My cube is an examination of our building’s air infrastructure. I have focused the images on two key elements concerning air flow in ECH. On three sides, visible at once, the cube shows intake pathways which are responsible for gathering air, inhaling as it were. When flipped, the cube shows three of the exhaust pathways that appear on the outside of the building, exhaling if you will. I am interested in the body relationship that the building itself fosters with regards to air flow. It breathes. The concerns with toxicity and hazards in art production have shaped the design of intake and exhaust systems. The degrees of functionality are varied. Consider the spray room. Consider the dust masks. Consider the respirators. Consider the vent hoods. Consider the building breathing.
