Because I live a 40 minute drive away from the University of Waterloo, mobility, in the sense of getting to school and around campus, is a large part of my day. For this reason I chose to document instances of mobility, such as underground tunnels, walkways and directional signs on my StoryCube. These images incorporate methods of pedestrian transportation, and issues surrounding safety such as the Walksafe program at Waterloo.
While these six images are relevent to my experience, I know that other students who commute or even travel from East Campus Hall to the main campus will be able to relate to my StoryCube. Connecting these images to others’ StoryCubes will hopefully highlight problems with pedestrian traffic, as well as what works and what is needed (eg. crosswalks) on Waterloo’s campus.
